The Gale family were a prominent Rugby League dynasty from Sydney’s inner west, renowned for multi-generational athletic achievements, elite NSWRL/ARL careers, pioneering women’s international representation, and deep coaching roots.

Terry’s wife Madeline, was the first woman in Australia to get a Grade 3 certificate in coaching.

Terry’s sons Scott and Brett Gale.

Scott the electrifying halfback played 158 first-grade games for clubs including Western Suburbs, Eastern Suburbs, Balmain, North Sydney, and the Canberra Raiders. He tragically passed away from motor neurone disease in 2004.

Brett  played first-grade rugby league for Western Suburbs, Eastern Suburbs, and North Sydney.

Terry’s daughter Tarsha Gale.

Tarsha  was the inaugural captain of the New South Wales women’s team and played 15 Tests for the Australian Jillaroos. She is an inductee into the Australian Rugby League Hall of Fame, and the junior women’s competition—the Tarsha Gale Cup—is named in her honor.
