Steve was a Wests junior from the Berala Bears and Five Dock RSL Clubs.

In 1971 and 1972 Steve was selected to play in the Wests Jersey Flegg teams.

Steve was a member of the Wests Amco Cup winning team in 1977 under coach Keith Holman.

Steve went on to play four seasons with Newtown 1979 – 1982.

Steve was a member along with two of his former Wests teammates Tom Raudonikis and Graeme O’Grady in the Warren Ryan coached 1981 Grand Final losing team.

Steve continued his rugby league career as Captain Coach of the Toukley Hawks for two seasons 1983 and 1984.

Steve passed away on May 29, 2024, aged 69.
