Pratten Park Magpies celebrated our 36th Annual Reunion on Saturday 8 July, when more than 180 guests gathered at Wests Ashfield to reminisce about the good old days from Pratten Park, Lidcombe Oval and Campbelltown Stadium.
Our Reunions are always great Days, and this one didn’t disappoint with a great vibe in the room. The only complaint received…was that it finished!
The theme for the Day was our Queensland Connection with Special Guests Steve Jackson, Bob Lindner, Jim Murphy, Bobby O’Sullivan, John Ribot, Jason Stafford and Scott Tronc all in attendance.
It was wonderful to have Lee Hagipantelis and Tim Sheens take time out of their busy schedules to join us.
It was an absolute pleasure to have our Penrith Panthers connection, Royce Simmons, Brad Waugh and Alan Mair with us.
It would be remiss of me not to mention our Co-Patron, Harry Wells who along with John Elford travelled down together from the mid North Coast and back on the same day. What an honour to have them with us!
Undoubtedly the highlight of the day, was the wonderful Panel Interview by our Master of Ceremonies, Brian Cook with our Special Guests, Jim Murphy, John Ribot, Bob Lindner, Roy Masters and Mick Stone!
There were so many people who contributed to the success of the day. Thank you to Bruiser Clark, Garry Walsh & Steve Winbank who assisted with the sale of raffle tickets. Indeed, a big thank you to Steve who travelled from Noosa to call the Calcutta Cox Plate race and what a fantastic job he did!
Thanks to everyone who supported the raffle and Calcutta. All monies raised on the day subsidise our NSW & QLD Reunions as well as our Annual Music Memories & Munch where we invite Widows of our Past Players to celebrate their husband’s footy careers with the Magpies.
We had some outstanding raffle prizes and I would like to acknowledge the contributions made by the following Sponsors…SCG Hospitality, Concord Golf Club, Western Suburbs Magpies FC and the Holman Barnes Group.
Many thanks to Bob Dickinson who, as always, did a great job on the Door.
Our Reunion would not be at all possible without the tremendous support of the Holman Barnes Group Board of Directors, Management and Staff…Thank You!
Finally, days like Saturday don’t just happen. There is a lot of preparation and planning that goes into the event and we are indeed ‘blessed’ to have a passionate team of Magpies on our Committee who put it all together. They seek no plaudits but should be congratulated for their efforts.
